Cloud storage, edited

Your files, filed under their proper names.

Secure storage, sync, backup and sharing for people who are tired of “final_v3_REAL.pdf”.

Every team has a drive that nobody trusts. Files hide behind nicknames, the newest version lives on someone’s laptop, and a simple request to “send the signed one” turns into an afternoon of detective work.

CloudNamed is cloud storage that does the filing for you. Naming rules are enforced as files arrive, everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and three copies are kept in separate places. Sharing carries the credit and the terms with it.

Feature No. 1Capabilities

Six things a drive should do properly.

Most storage stops at “somewhere to put things”. These are the habits that make a drive worth trusting.

01

Secure file storage

Every file is encrypted in transit and at rest, versioned for 90 days and kept in three separate locations, so one failure never becomes your failure.

02

Sync that settles arguments

Desktop, laptop and phone stay in step, and when two people edit at once, both versions are kept and clearly labeled rather than quietly overwritten.

03

Backup you can prove

Sealed copies of finished work cannot be changed or deleted during their retention window, which makes “what did we send?” an easy question.

04

Sharing with the credit attached

Branded link pages carry the creator’s name and your terms, expire when you say, and report back who opened what.

05

Team workspaces

Give each project a desk with roles, status and approvals, so everyone sees what is draft, what is final and who said so.

06

Archiving that stays searchable

Retention rules, legal holds and cold storage keep old records safe and cheap, while full-text search keeps them within reach.

Field reports from four desks.

Different work, same habit: put it somewhere safe, give it a good name and know where it went.

The newsroom

Deadline without the detective work

Drafts, photos and sign-offs live in one story folder with a visible status, and published work moves itself to the archive.

The production studio

Footage that actually arrives

Send raw video and layered files to partners in resumable bundles, then watch the delivery receipts roll in.

The records office

Decades of paper, now searchable

Scan the boxes, let the text be read, and set retention rules so that nothing is kept longer or shorter than it should be.

The small business

A backup that says what it saved

Contracts, invoices and signed forms are sealed at month end, with copies in three places and a clear restore path.

Feature No. 5Letters to the editor

Readers write in.

Fictional first names, real habits. These letters are composites written to show how teams use CloudNamed.

We used to lose an hour every deadline asking which version was real. Now the status is on the folder, the approval has a name on it, and the question simply does not come up.

The naming rules felt fussy for about a week. After that, I could find any invoice from any year without opening a single folder.

Scans of our old records are finally searchable. I typed a surname from 1994 and the page was there in seconds.

Sending a 90 GB shoot used to be a gamble. The upload resumed after my train went through a tunnel, and the receipt told me it had arrived.

My photographs now go out with the credit line attached, and the link stops working when the license does. Small thing, huge relief.

Feature No. 7Questions

Asked and answered.

The questions that reach our desk most often.

How is my data protected?

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and every file is kept in three separate storage locations. Access is controlled by roles you assign per folder.

What happens to the files I already have?

Upload them as they are. Name Index Drive can review the lot against your naming pattern and propose corrections, and nothing is renamed until you approve it.

Can I share files with people who have no account?

Yes. Byline Shares links open for anyone you send them to, with an optional password, an expiry date and a download limit.

How are backups different from sync?

Sync keeps your devices matching. Backup keeps a history, and Proof Copy Backup goes further by sealing finished editions as copies that cannot be altered during their retention window.

How big can a transfer be?

Single files can be up to 50 GB and bundles up to 250 GB. Uploads are split into parts and resume automatically if your connection drops.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Starter plan includes 20 GB of encrypted storage with sync, version history and share links, and does not ask for a card.

Last word

Stop the presses on lost files.

Open a free account, bring one folder over, and watch the index put itself in order.
